Black Monday Driving back home Sunday Evening after a ride. Lungs aching from the ups, eyes watering from the downs. That adrenaline we aspire to every time we ride , slowly drains away, as its replaced by the thought of post ride washing and the week to come. Come Monday, everything is against you from the word go. At school, work or wherever your Mondays take you there is a black cloud hanging overhead just waiting to make your day that bit worse. Mondays are amyth. Whoever said Gods day of rest was a Sunday must have been readingthe wrong parable. Rest is for the wicked n all that, afterall ey? Time spent ‘working’ is replaced by the thoughts of where, when and how your going to ride your bike the next time. Your mind is a strange thing. Even though you need toc oncentrate it allows you to wonder off and re-live experiences once again. Sometimes, if it was that good, you can get a kick of that adrenaline which needlessly fires you up, making that clock tick slower still. That journey home is just another gap between you and the trail. But once your there, everything else is layed to rest. Goodbye paperwork. Hello sunshine. Freedom is a funny thing. Next time you ride your bike. Savor it. As we all do know what tomorrow brings. An it aint pretty.
