Matlock SkateparkPlace: Matlock Skatepark

Location: Matlock, Derbyshire

For: Everything really, you'll even see scally's doing tailwhips on scoooters.

How to get there:  Coming from Bakewell, head along the A6 into Rowsley and follow the road round and right into the center of Matlock (about 10-15mins). You'll eventually hit the main roundabout where you can see the park straight ahead. The skatepark is right in the center of it.

The letter B on the map shows where the skatepark is. (it wasn't built when the map was done hence the field)

Details: The park is all wood ramps on top of a smooth concrete surface which makes it pretty bike friendly. All the ramps have just been re-surfaced as well so there in pretty good nick. The main features of the park are:

  • ≈6ft Spine with a flat gap
  • Jump box
  • Funbox with an up along and down grind box next to it
  • 4 large quarterpipes from about 7ft to about 11ft
  • long 5/6ft quarterpipe
A pretty good all round park however being the only one for a good distance around it's rarely empty unless you get there early on in the day to beat the locals.
